Our Story

TUKU TUKU was originally started by a mom with the idea for a baby brand when she could not find any child friendly clothes for her daughter, and  in order to create something meaningful she collaborated with her own mother, who has been a seamstress designer for 35 years.

So with a desire to create timelessly stylish and high quality organic products in Nepal, this mother-daughter duo founded Tuku-Tuku.

Tuku Tuku is a one stop shop for items for babies, mom and the nursery! Tuku Tuku is made up of a team of 50%mom and 50% women.

Our Mission

Cleaner and safer products for babies; to start an organic revolution in baby apparels!

  1. For Baby and mama

We want to inspire baby and mamma with designs that express freedom, peace, and love.

  1. Babies Health

Baby skin is sensitive, so why expose it to potentially harmful chemicals, residues, and toxins?

  • We use non-toxic and Earth-safe dyes.
  • Around 90% of TT garments are made with soft cotton. Buttery soft, it will keep your baby feeling as snug as a bug in a rug.
  1. Tuku Tuku’s Ethical and Sustainable Practice

Creating stories; from Fibre to Fabric:

Tuku Tuku is committed to sustainability and we design our own fabric. The core of tuku Tuku lies in our authentic Nepali handloom fabric. All the natural fibers are hand woven by a traditional handloom weaving community supported by Tuku Tuku. The weavers create high-quality and long-lasting fabrics that can be worn, washed, and passed on again and again.

  1. For the planet

We believe that products, which are closer to nature, will provide our babies with more love. Organic cotton is one of the best materials to give new parents peace of mind. We use organic cotton and all our buttons are responsibly made.

  1. Hand-Embroidery

What makes us unique?

In many clothing we focus on playful patterns of hand-embroideries creating stories with love. Most of our embroideries are inspired by nature, birds and animals.

  1. Inclusivity:
  • Tuku Tuku is mama-founded, and operated by mostly women team.
  • We also have a gender-neutral baby line.
  1. Supply chain & labor practices:
  • Prioritizing working with women and mothers, and supporting their social and economic independence.
  • Tuku Tuku only works with fair trade farmers and manufacturers.
  1. Materials:

We have many selection of baby clothes, but not all are made with organic cotton. To make it easier for you, we do have a specific section on our website  that allows you to shop your values and find 100% organic cotton baby clothes.

What do we do?

Designed, crafted, and produced in Nepal, Tuku Tuku baby clothing is ethically made, sustainably produced and supports low-income families. We focus on playful patterns of embroideries, and handloom fabrics that are breathable, relaxed and incredibly comfy for your little bundle of joy.

Tuku Tuku abides by the belief that babies should always be comfortable and safe, free to do what they do best. Let them — and their parents — enjoy the wonder while it lasts.
